Re: NVA 20 Pre - Can you alter it ?
The P20 is tiny and although the little stepped attenuator that Tisbury use can almost certainly be fitted (I never tried it but it's small enough I think), the gain in very low level channel balance (without fiddling) may be countered by a (to me) slightly deadened presentation. Even the stock pot ...

Re: New Computer Problems - HELP!
I don't think this update is there and when I downloaded it and tried to install it to see what would happen, it told me it wasn't a suitable update (Win 10 pro UK). My CPU isn't going bananas but when it's trying to install the feature pack for 1903 and also .Net 4.8, the hard drive is going loopy ...

Re: New Computer Problems - HELP!
I am used to backing up (music data on this laptop mainly), re-formatting and re installing everything but didn't want to go to the effin' faff of doing it. Something odd in that I can't un-install previous updates (tab/button missing) and when I've tried an in-place W10 replacement, it gets to 80 o...

Re: New Computer Problems - HELP!
eM Client is fine here and updated just a few days ago. However, this laptop refuses to update .Net 4.8 and also the new 'feature pack' yet allows updates on Windows Defender. I've run numerous 'fix-it' tools plus sfc and DISM which tell me there's no errors, so currently I'm stumped. My wife's lapt...

Re: Corbyn is an evil upstart monkey........
Actually, I suspect the EU would be ruled by France as I understand it's Macron who currently has his beady eyes on the big EU prize..

Re: Corbyn is an evil upstart monkey........
Did you fact-check any of that, or are you willing to take it all on trust? Joe, I knew some of that before and others who know more than I have confirmed other parts of it. There was a fly-on-the-wall documentary about the Brussells negotiators (I forget the program, but it was on i-Player for age...

Re: Corbyn is an evil upstart monkey........
My vibe is that we voted to leave, deal or no deal (sorry). I feel 'Westminster' personalities may well have too many fingers in European pies to have made this the easy exit 'we' hoped for and the last three years have been abominable politically I think. Had we narrowly voted to remain, none of th...

Re: Corbyn is an evil upstart monkey........
I'd like to post this quote, which I think at the beginning paragraphs at least, sums up many people's views and then goes on - 'I have realised that the Remainers have been right all along when they say I did not know all the true facts before voting to leave, and it's true! We WERE lied to apparen...

Re: British amps
I read that a while ago. Loads of guesswork in the opinions but fascinating to see the prices.Simon Hickie wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2019 10:53 am Time to go nuclear: http://select45rpm.com/pages/hifi/a-lis ... rs.html#17

Re: Foreign amps
Long before High End became fashionable, pro's often looked to the US for their decent amps and still do. Too many to mention, but crown, Phase Linear and BGW were exalted brands back then. 'Ampzilla' and 'Son of Ampzilla' (G.A.S.), Dunlap Clarke and Quatre (QMI) were others long before Threshold. T...
