Re: Royd Derwent
Just keeping an eye on these. I am unable to find anything at all on the internet to do with these speakers. Does anyone know anything about them??? They are tempting...

Re: Royd Derwent
I've never seen the main tweeter before and the ten-a-penny little Audax 'super-tweeter' is fine if used properly. My era for Royds was early 80's.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...
Re: Royd Derwent
Nothing on the Roydaudio history site which is usually pretty comprehensive IME. To me they look like Castle speakers, especially with regards to the bass unit. Something does seem out of place with that Audax tweeter too, as though it wasn't meant to be there (ie it's not original).
Still, this could be one of those extreme rarities which has, like with Jammy, slipped under the radar.

Re: Royd Derwent
You could be right but looking at the photo of the back of the speaker it seems as though you can see the bass driver magnet through the port and it has 'akroyd' on it. The seller says all drivers are original... Could be a dog or could be an absolute gem...

Interesting. I recon these may well be worth a punt. Also got my eye on a pair of AP2. Why do all the interesting things come at the same time???? Typical!

Re: Royd Derwent
if the ap2's you have your eyes on are being sold by the sisters of mercy or some such charity whose name i have forgotten I would expect you will need to re-foam them .
