Re: Poundland Amp Project
Everything is wired and tested: inputs, outputs, power supply and heaters. There is just the audio circuit to do, but not today. I’ve put every possible strategy in place to prevent interaction between the iron and minimise the possibility of it humming.
The only transformer under the top plate is the 5V rectifier heater transformer on the right hand cab wall, well away from the input stage.
Non magnetic stainless steel plates and copper foil, screen the top from the underneath. Mains and heater transformer are under the larger black can on top. Said can is earthed to the stainless plate via its fixing screws. Choke in the smaller black can on top, is oil filled. It is also earthed to the stainless plate with a copper strap, via one of its fixing bolts. The strap can just be seen sticking out below the left hand side of the large Black Gate cap.The only transformer under the top plate is the 5V rectifier heater transformer on the right hand cab wall, well away from the input stage.

And after checking out the voltages, here it is playing:
There is one resistor in the power supply needs changing in value, but apart from that and the need to make a baseboard with feet, this project has been a great success.- These users thanked the author SteveTheShadow for the post (total 3):

And looking very nice Steve, my only niggle would be the red, presumably on/off switch. The base board, what will go underneath it and what will go between the amp and baseboard?

Re: Poundland Amp Project
It looks amazing but, as an engineer, I think the output transformer on the right should be slightly closer to the edge so that it’s centre line coincides with that of the valve in front of it.
