OOPS!
Forgot to introduce myself.
I'm from South Yorks, mostly frequent the Audio Talk forum, build my own valve amps
and speakers.

My valve amp and one of my own design speakers.

I designed them in 2006.
They were inspired by Paul Voigt's tapered, quarter-wave pipes from the 1930s.
The Voigt design tapered front to back only, so presented a leaned back rectangular face to the listener.
I tapered mine in both directions and changed the port from front firing to down firing,
which is why they have the arches around the bottom.

The look is a strange hybrid of the Voigt pipe, the Larson Pyramid omnidirectional speaker from the late 60s and the Eiffel tower.
The ones in the pic are 5ft tall.

Drive units are Fostex FF225WK 8" wide range driver, supported up top by the Monacor RBT-95 ribbon tweeter.
Crossover is just a 1.47uF cap to the tweeter.
They're efficient (95dB/W) and sound nice.
Women seem to like the way they look. I had some smaller ones I built myself but the wife paid for those in the pic to be veneered by a proper carpenter.

OK, so here's my latest creation.

Image
2 stage, all pentode, DC coupled, push-pull amplifier
Front row is input driver stage comprised of a pair of 12SJ7 pentodes per channel
Back row is two pairs of wartime British PEN45 beam pentodes.

It is big, heavy and inefficient but sounds really rather good.

Hi, love the look of the speakers.

They look rather like the "metronome":

Did you design that? or are yours based on it/vice versa?

Yep... I designed the Metronome speaker.
Scott Lindgren and Dave Dlugos (Planet10 and Frugal-Horn) then developed and scaled up my first speaker design into a range of cabinets of different sizes,
that could take a number of different drive units

This is my original 2006 design, in my own home.

These were complemented by twin Ruark subwoofers, but you can't see those in the picture.
