Re: Just ordered pair of A80 mono amps.
TB2's are gutless and will need every Watt you can give them! Surely there's something better these days than an overpriced PMC? (the prices on all models have rocketed over the last twelve years, almost doubling in price and spoiling the fun)..
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

Re: Just ordered pair of A80 mono amps.
As I am just starting to rebuild a main system after selling it to move house, it was Naim cd555, 2 x 555 power supplies, 252 pre + supercap, 300 amp, the PMC OB1i and all chord company indigo & signature cables.slinger wrote:Enjoy the new toys when they arrive. All I have at the mo is a second system which is Cyrus cdxtse2 transport, Naim Unitiqute pre/ streamer, Nas drive, Naim 100 amp, Project 5.1 tt, ortofon 2m blue, Naim phono + ps, Pmc tb2 speakers and some Chord sarum and indigo interconnects.
Could not agree more, I am using them because I have already got them, the old ' I ' series did have good vocal quality though. Listened to the new twenty series and IMHO just awful far to lean and over hyped and over priced._D_S_J_R_ wrote:TB2's are gutless and will need every Watt you can give them! Promised the other half would stick to 'shoe box' size boxes and stand mounted speakers until the kitchen, bathroom, garden, conservatory etc. are done, moving house is a real chore.
Would be rely great full for any suggestions of stand mounts that work well with the NVA amps, have yet to hear Neat's, Kudos, ATC, Harbeth and quite a few more on my list, need to do a hi-fi show desperately. I would like a speaker that produces an out of box sound not fixed between them but open in the room.
More importantly is there any speakers that I cannot use with the NVA amps like electrostatics or similar flat panel designs.
Regards David

Re: Just ordered pair of A80 mono amps.
The recommendation will probably be Royds or old JPWs.
