What's you favourite piece of music through several versions. I guess I'm talking about pieces which aren't quite yet standards or maybe 'modern' standards.
I'm thinking of something like 'I heard it through the grapevine'
Marvin Gaye : fantastic pop song

Fairport Convention : really owned it
[BBvideo 425,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K0mwDq8b50[/BBvideo]
Antonio Forcione : really fresh instrumental interpretation

And loads more, of course.

Re: Versions

Re: Versions
One of my favourites. The first and original version is a lost classic that first got airplay on Radio Caroline, a pirate station, back in (I think) 1967, the cover version from 1992 is just a good cover of a cracking song.

Re: Versions
Whatever happened to the story song: W.O.L.D; Hickory Hollow's Tramp; Ode to Billy Joe; Deliliah. Murder Ballads is about the last set I can think of. I get there'll be some good rap ones but they've passed me by.

Re: Versions
How's about this version of Snoop Dogg's Gin and Juice by The Gourds. The language is a bit adult if anyone's of a sensitive disposition.

Re: Versions
I need to find somewhere to hide from the fallout from this one. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present William Shatner a.k.a. James Tiberius Kirk, a.k.a The Big Giant Head, a.k.a. Denny Crane covering...Pulp.
