The Humble 1210.

Unread post by jammy395 »

In response to a wee bit of Jammy / 1210 bashing, thought i would respond with a wee bit o banter.
You know it's the truth.

A lament to the (Standard) Technics 1210.

You can keep all your PT's yer Gyro's and SME,
There's only one table that fill's me with glee.
There's no need for Thoren's or Origin Live's,
It's only the Techie on my rack that survives.

No need for Revox no Funk's and no Rock's,
The Techie plays real music straight from the box.
There's no PL71 nor EMT to darken my day,
The ferkers are too ugly for this Jammy to play.

Shove all yer Garrard's yer Rek-o's and Dual's,
You think their all great - but - I think your all fool's.
I wont touch no Avid's no Rega's nor Linn,
I was brought up a christian and speed drift's a sin.

And with that I must bid you all goodnight and farewell,
I just hope in your heart you believe this tale that I tell.
So raise up yer glass and drink once again,
To the world's best Turntable the (Standard) 1210.

Jammy. ;)

Jammy, how can you say a PL71 is ugly, it is one of the prettiest TT ever made.

I guess we all are influenced to some degree by the way something looks. Turntables generally tend to be beautiful things, I feel.

Turntables aren't so much electronics as engineering, and you have to handle them, so you tend to build a strong relationship with them, which is probably why they attract fan boys.

Yep strange but true, we do seem to derive some perverse kind of pleasure in the ritual of playin a record. :shifty: :D
