It can happen with any cable if you lose the earth.

It is very simple you don't use them as ordinary cables, it is completely common sense, you are dealing with a small scale pipe - You bend it and form it to the shape you require before you put it in, you don't stick the cable in and expect it to go where you want while you yank it around!!!

A cat treading on cables and partly pulling them out could happen with any cable!!!

OK, very clear. (that's indeed how I proceeded. I tryed as well not to have cable angles, but only gentle curves -> 30 cm needed behind electronics).

I was just asking if given
a) my future tweeters being discontinued (and expensive...)
b) users experience with this issue,

I should seriously think about using Neutrik plugs or not. :)

Sorry to hear of yer blown tweeter.....it aint nice (from experience)
But regardless of plug type - this type of cable requiires a bit of care and common sense when installing.
Glad to hear your pussy is ok though.
The road to sonic nirvana is indeed full of pitfalls....!!!!

Thank god... I thought we had a post focussing on dubious 80's pop act of same name. This has to remain a Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot and trademark beret freezone :P
